Find a Rental Home in Canada: Kijiji, Realtor.ca, Centris and BabDar
Where Canadians look for a rental in 2026 — Kijiji, Realtor.ca, Centris, Zoocasa and Zumper — and how BabDar’s map fits a Canadian or Moroccan lease.

Renting in Canada in 2026 still depends on the city more than on a national headline. Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal move at different speeds, and a budget that works in one neighborhood fails two transit stops away. Utilities, parking, and whether the heat is included change the monthly number. Write that ceiling before you fall for a photo. Then search only the portals that publish rentals in that province. A listing in the wrong currency or the wrong country is not a bargain. It is a different market you have not decided to join.
Canadian renters use a mix of classifieds and property sites. Kijiji is still where a large share of private landlords post apartments and houses, and it is often the first app people open. Realtor.ca carries rental listings from agents as well as sales. Centris is essential in Quebec for both sales and rentals. Zoocasa is another search site with rental inventory. Zumper and PadMapper show up in the larger cities for apartment hunting. REW matters in British Columbia. Facebook Marketplace is common and needs extra caution. If the lease is in Canada, those are the platforms to check. Avito will not help you find a Montreal 4½.
BabDar for the map, the thread, and Morocco
BabDar lets you browse rentals on a map and message the advertiser on the listing. When a Canadian home has been published there, you can read the facts and keep the replies in one thread. Cross-check Kijiji, Realtor.ca, Centris or Zoocasa so you understand the local rent and you do not miss a landlord who never posted on a second site. If the apartment you want is in Morocco, change sites on purpose. BabDar, Avito, Mubawab and Sarouty are the relevant catalogs, and the rent is in dirhams. Viewing a Casablanca apartment in Canadian dollars on BabDar is a budgeting aid. It does not make it a Toronto lease.
Ask what is included, how long the lease runs, and who you are paying. Visit or take a video that shows the entrance and the street, not only the staged room. Do not send a deposit to a name that does not match the advertiser. In tight cities, have your documents ready so you can reply the day the ad appears on Kijiji or Centris. Use BabDar rent when you want the map and a thread you can reopen, and use the Canadian portals for depth. Two searches are fine. One confused budget is not. Keep the Canadian dollar ceiling and the dirham ceiling in two separate notes.
Search rentals on the BabDar map.
