Find a Rental Home in the USA: Zillow, Apartments.com and BabDar
Where US renters search in 2026 — Zillow, Apartments.com, Realtor.com and Redfin — and how BabDar’s map fits a rental in the United States or Morocco.

Renting in the United States is a speed game in the cities with the least supply. The useful search starts with a monthly ceiling, a commute you will actually do, and a list of fees that never appear in the headline rent. Broker fees, parking, utilities and pet rules change the number. A listing that looks cheap until you add those lines is not cheap. Decide whether you need a long lease or a shorter stay, then open the sites that publish that kind of home in that city. A national average rent will not tell you what next month costs on your street.
US renters congregate on a familiar set of platforms. Zillow is where a huge share of apartment and house rentals are browsed on a map. Apartments.com is a major rentals marketplace, especially for larger buildings and professionally managed units. Realtor.com carries rentals next to sales and is worth a second pass. Redfin and Trulia still surface rental inventory in many metros. Homes.com is another national search. In New York, StreetEasy remains the site many renters refuse to skip. If the apartment is in the United States, those are the platforms to check before you message anyone. They are built for that inventory.
BabDar when you want the map and the thread
BabDar lets you browse rentals on a map and message the advertiser on the listing, including homes in the United States when they have been published there. Filter for rent, read beds, baths and area, and keep the conversation in one place instead of a text thread you cannot search later. That is a real convenience. It is still smart to cross-check Zillow, Apartments.com and StreetEasy so you see the depth of the local market and you do not miss a building that never syndicated elsewhere. If the rental you want is in Morocco, switch the search: BabDar, Avito, Mubawab and Sarouty are the relevant sites, and the rent will be in dirhams.
Before you send a deposit, confirm who is advertising the home, what the lease length is, and which utilities you pay. Visit, or do a live video that shows the street as well as the kitchen. Do not wire money to a name that does not match the listing. If you are comparing a US rental with a later move to Morocco, keep two budgets and two sets of portals. Search Boston, New York and other US cities on Zillow and Apartments.com. Search Moroccan cities on BabDar rent. Save only the homes that fit the ceiling after fees, and reply on the listing so the terms stay attached to the photos.
