Find Apartments in Boston and New York: Local Sites and BabDar
How to search Boston and New York apartments on Zillow, StreetEasy, Realtor.com and Redfin, and how BabDar fits when you also want a home in Morocco.

Boston and New York are two of the tightest apartment markets in the United States, and they do not behave like a national average. A one-bedroom near the T or a subway line can cost more than a larger place one neighborhood over, once you add broker fees, building amenities and the real commute. Inventory moves quickly in both cities. A search that starts with a vague “Boston” or “New York” and never names the neighborhood will waste the first week. Decide whether you are renting for a job, buying to hold, or simply learning prices before a move.
The listing sites New Yorkers and Bostonians actually use are specific. Zillow is the broad consumer map for sales and rentals in both metros. Realtor.com is the other national portal agents and renters check in parallel. Redfin is widely used for for-sale search and for neighborhood context. Trulia still appears when people browse areas. In New York City, StreetEasy is the listings platform many renters and buyers treat as essential, especially for Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Homes.com is another national surface. If you want an apartment in Boston or New York, those are the sell and rent platforms to open first. A Morocco-only portal will not have that inventory.
Use BabDar for the Morocco half of the move
BabDar can still be part of the same household’s search when the other home is in Morocco. Diaspora families often hold a US rental or sale and a Casablanca or Tangier purchase in the same year. On BabDar the map, the message thread, and prices in dollars or dirhams are built for that Moroccan side. You can also publish a US home on BabDar if you want an extra map, including a Boston or New York pin, with no BabDar listing fee to submit it for review. The buyers who already live in those cities will still be on Zillow, StreetEasy, Realtor.com and Redfin. Use both layers on purpose instead of expecting one site to be the whole market.
Whichever city you choose this month, read the monthly cost and not only the asking rent or price. In New York that includes any broker fee and building rules. In Boston it includes winter costs and what the lease actually allows. In Morocco, if that is the parallel search, it includes notary costs and building charges, and the local sites to cross-check are Avito, Mubawab and Sarouty. Start the US hunt on Zillow and StreetEasy. Start the Morocco hunt on BabDar. Save only the homes you would tour, and keep the conversation on the listing so the fee, the size and the date do not get lost in a group chat.
Browse the map, including US cities and Moroccan cities.
